Eating and hanging-out at Ma Mama’s Kitchen going on twenty years now, likely qualifies as an adequate endorsement in itself. Regardless, after two-decades, Ma Mama’s Kitchen still hasn’t lost a single step. Just last week, looking down at an eight-ounce Filet, Baked Potato, Caesar Salad, Fresh-Baked Bread, and Iced Tea, I commented I was looking at five food items that could not possibly look, smell, taste, or be better prepared. The food there just makes me happy. At Ma Mama’s Kitchen, you can be equally comfortable drinking your favorite beer with a platter of fried Louisiana seafood, as sipping a fine wine with an expertly-prepared and presented fish fillet, or prime-cut steak. And if there’s a better brewed cup of coffee somewhere, I haven’t had it. So next time you’re in the neighborhood of False River, stop-by Ma Mama’s Kitchen for a unique experience you’re sure to enjoy. - Bobby Duthu

My only regret was eating two poboys and leaving 0 room for their amazing looking deserts. The ladies working the lunch hour were super friendly and fun. The buns on the poboys were so delicious. If I'm ever in the area again, I will drive out of my way to come back here.

First off, be sure to make a reservation if you're planning to dine in for dinner on a weekend! Luckily the bar was not reserved and we were readily seated. The place was busy and the staff was flooded, but the bartender was amazing in every way. A place like this is where you go to for everything that is fine Louisiana dining. If you want Italian or whatnot, go to an Italian restaurant you negative reviewers! I myself has the Seafood Au Gratun and work partner had the Shrimp & Grits - Both were absolutely spectacular!

They are a lot on the pricey side, but it's worth it. As the saying goes, " You get what you pay for!" It was cramped in there, imo they could lose a couple of smaller tables and add one bigger one. There needs to be a side entrance, waiting to be seated every time the door opens, you could smell exhaust fumes from passing vehicles. IMO, a few minor changes, and this place would be better than perfect.
